Richard Stacy Aumonier, artist b.1965. British.

Work in bonded stone slab. I began working with granite slab and countertop waste in 2004, which I found in abundance around me in London. Using a technique called sandwich-bonding, slabs are ground very flat and glued with formulated epoxy, becoming blocks and compositional elements. Once quarries and places beckoned, now the world comes to me, in fragments. I work with what's available, making do. To find, sort, cut and calibrate, bond and build has become a process, a deepening engagement and source of sculptural enquiry.

The website is intermittent but further documentation is available by request. My studio is in Lewisham, visitors welcome.
